About Colin de Grandhomme
Colin de Grandhomme was born on 22 July 1996, in Harare, Zimbabwe.
De Grandhomme began his career by playing for Manicaland in Zimbabwe. He also played in the 2004 Under-19 Cricket World Cup with Zimbabwe Under-19s. He moved to New Zealand and played for Auckland in domestic cricket from 2006-2018. The all-rounder signed for Northern Districts ahead of the 2018-19 season and has been playing for the team since then.
International Career
Colin de Grandhomme made his T20I debut for New Zealand on 11 February 2012, with a match against Zimbabwe. He made his ODI debut against South Africa, on 3 March 2012.
De Grandhomme made his Test debut on 17 November 2016, against Pakistan. On 2 December 2017, he scored his first Test century, against the West Indies, which took only 71 balls. The century was the second-fastest century in Tests by a New batsman.
In April 2019, de Grandhomme was named in New Zealand’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
De Grandhomme was part of the New Zealand squad for the 2019-2021 ICC World Test Championship. He won the Championship with New Zealand. On 31 August 2022, he announced his retirement from international cricket.
